The beautiful Blue Dicks flower blooms in So Cal are happening now. Wonderful relative of onion family with a juicy and edible corm, sometimes called grass nuts. Be sure to use authentic Indian tradtion and dig for corms only with a wooden stick. Leave a few cormlets behind, only take the main one, spread cormlets into dug soil as to help the flower propegate.
Watch out for Death Camus! This is a look alike but has white flowers. Deadly poisonous! Best way to stay safe is to harvest only actively blooming plants with purple flowers.
